Booking Your Session

Please call or email me to book your session. Depending on the time of the year, I recommend that you try to book your session three to five weeks in advance. Weekend appointments are available but fill up quickly. Once we have the where and when worked out for your session, you will receive information with tips on clothing and other relevant details about your session which will include the date for your session consultation.

Preparing For Your Session

I will schedule a phone consultation for us to discuss the type of session, location, lighting, clothing, and answer any questions you may have. I welcome you to share any ideas that you may have about your session as it is my goal to make your session uniquely you.

Before Your Session

When booking your portrait session, you will also be given an appointment for viewing and purchasing your images. You will receive an information email with details on what to expect, ideas for clothing as well as a few forms to fill out and return before your session. A non-refundable session fee will be required prior to the time of booking to hold your date. You can make your session fee payment on our website by selecting the session fee tab and then selecting view form.

What to Wear

Keep it simple, comfortable, and keep it you. Please stay away from big logos and cartoon characters on the front of your clothing. Remember, you want to wear clothing that will be as timeless as your portrait. Have fun with color, layers, hats, scarfs, funky pairs of shoes, and even tutus; but remember not to be too "matchy matchy." If you still are not sure, bring a little of everything; and we will work on putting some looks together.

Bare skin is my favorites on newborns and babies. You may have other clothes to put on the baby, but keep in mind that bare skin is the best for newborns.

The Shoot

I know family portraits can be stressful. However, I want you to enjoy more than just your images but also the experience of making those images. I have a casual, more documentary style of photography; and I would love to invite you to interact with each other during your session. I gravitate towards natural posing that families do but may offer posing suggestions as needed in order to benefit the final look of your portraits. You will find me talking to you and your family a lot about everyday life, with special attention in engaging your children in the moment. All you have to do is make sure the kids get plenty of rest. Your photos will be just as amazing as you are.

What's Next ?

Check my blog and Facebook page a few days after the shoot, and you will have a little sneak peek of what to expect. Approximately two to three weeks later, your image gallery will have 20 to 30 beautifully edited portrait.  Please note that digital files are not included in your session fee, but they can be purchased a la crate or as a part of several packages that I offer.

Placing The Order

An in-person ordering session can be scheduled and will take place at my gallery. Please make sure all decision makers are present as there will only be one viewing included with your package. Payment is required in full at the time of order. I accept cash, check, and all major credit cards.
